I finished watching all of "Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job" Season 3 and felt an empty space inside of me, until I found the Vodka Movies. They were made by Zach Galifianakis, Tim and Eric, and all three deal with heavy life issues.

John K
Recently a friend of mine introduced me to John K's Blog. John K (or John Kricfalusi) is a Canadian born animator best known for his work on Ren and Stimpy. I am heavily addicted to his site and my goal is to read a months worth of posts everyday. He averages about 22 posts a month, dating back to February 2006. Some of the posts are just a series of charicatures and others are rants about what is wrong with animation today and how good it used to be. I haven't even gotten into 2007 yet, and I've already learned a lot about basic fundamentals and what makes a strong cartoon. I've probably learned more from this blog than I have from the animation courses I took in College.
Here's a Yogi Bear short that John K animated for the adult swim.

Summer Is Over. Part 2

Summer Is Over.
There I said it, but here are some pictures from the past few months. I'll try to post these chronologically. I shot most of these with a Canon AE-1 Program and a Nikon Fm.
Krisjanis and I snagged some free passes to Folk Fest, so we decided to go see Lee Scratch Perry. He never showed up.
This was my first time at Folk Fest, and everyone said it was the worst day in Folk Fest history. It rained constantly, everything was muddy, and it was freezing.
What would summer be without Pizza in the park!
Or a delicious BBQ.
Hi Lester!
I don't like this cat but I made it look cute.
Here's my brother blowing bubbles, he used to work with a guy named bubbles.
Here's a baby.
I don't like this cat either.

Panda Cam
I have this widget called Panda Cam, it's a live feed from the San Diego Zoo Panda exhibit. Sometimes when you view Panda Cam it's just a pile of leaves and other times it's a big rolly polly Panda eating a tasty stick (I check it daily). I've been told that the San Diego Pandas are the very same Pandas that visited Winnipeg a few years back.
If you don't have a mac you can just go here and view the live stream.
It's probably one of the best things ever.

HAMBURGER UNIVERSITY
As all of you are heading back to school, I'm dreaming of Hamburger University!
I've also done a little research and discovered McDonaldland! This including a list of all McDonaldland characters, and an interesting lawsuit filed by Sid and Marty Krofft creators of H. R. Pufnstuf.

I got the complete series of Mr. Show for my birthday. I just finished season two last night and was almost in tears from this skit.
YAY long weekend!

Do you have any dogs that are sick, and you don't care!?
You ever been hit in the head with a shitty Pamper?!
Then you can't be black!
I watch this about once a week and laugh.
It's scenes and out-takes from Totally Awesome, starring Tracy Morgan. Apparently if you watch this you've seen all the best parts of the movie.

SO4 video!?
Taxi Film and Meld Media got together to make this video for Edmonton Boieez Shout Out Out Out Out. You can watch it here. The video is okay, the graphics are great, but it seems sluggish and the story's played out. I don't think much would compare to their live show though. They should have just shot green screen footage of the band live. Easy enough, right?
SO4 are currently recording (finished?) their newest album, a follow up to Not Saying/Just Saying.

Summer FUN!
We took a big double date up to Mel's family cabin a few weeks back.
We got kind of lost looking for the look out point of this mountain. We eventually heard some voices and followed them until we found it. Look at that view, huh?
It was $50 to repair the focus ring, it turns now, but not easily. I found a Nikon FM with a similar lens and bought it along with a few accesories off of Kijiji.
Fun in the sun!

Back at home: Lester wearing a toupée made of his own fur.
Half way through this roll my camera fell on the floor and my focus ring stopped turning. I was stuck at a pretty close range so I went through the rest of the pictures quickly so I could take the lens in.

I've been watching my money, saving up for holiday.
I've been watching this video way too much. The new album comes out soon.
Here's the video for Radio Ladio also.
And if those 2 weren't kooky enough; My Heart Rate Rapid.

Hey, I went to New York.
I went to New York a month ago and now I can finally show you the pictures.
Day 1.
Caught an early flight to New York with a stop over in Toronto.
Can you see the C.N Tower? It's in there. I had to sit there for 2 hours listening to these 3 ladies talk about Indiana Jones and cell phone plans. They were on a business trip, but I couldn't figure out what for.
I arrived at LaGuardia around 4 or 5 and met up with my friend Krisjanis, that's him and his apartment. He lived right across the street from Columbia and a block from the Seinfeld Dinner.
We didn't do much that night, I got a black and white cookie, and we played some Mario Kart 64.
Day 2.
We got up early and headed downtown.
Krisjanis said these were the two buildings that collapsed on each other from Cloverfield. I still don't think they are.
We stopped for some excellent falafel from this place.
Then we went record shopping.
First up was Bleeker Street Records, on Bleeker Street. It was really expensive and didn't have anything I wanted.
Next we went to Generation Records, which was o.k, I spent some money and got some newer stuff.
THEN came Rockit Scientist Records. Which was amazing, they were so helpful and suggestive, I ended up spending a large chunk of change there. They had lots of psych-rock and noise records.
There was a pretty good comic shop across the street too.
Then we got hungry so we made the big trek over to Katz's.
They had pictures of every Jewish celebrity I could think of on the wall.
This is the only food picture I took. It was a corned beef combo, (half corned beef, half tongue, first time ever trying tongue) and an egg cream to drink. Still not exactly sure what that was.
While we were down in the lower east side we checked out Supreme (only for the hottest dudes) and the WESC store, which didn't have the headphones I wanted.
After our big day out we went back to Krisjanis's space.
OMG!
Day 3.
Got up early and caught a train to Chelsea to see some galleries. Highlights were the Neo Rauch and David Altmejd exhibits. Of course I couldn't take pictures, but the links I provided will take you to the galleries site.
After that Krisjanis had some meeting, so I went and spent the afternoon at the MET!
Here's a tomb of some kind.
Here's a statue thingy.
This room was neat.
Do you remember this painting from Ferris Bueller's day off? When Cameron is contemplating his life and it keeps getting closer and closer!
Like this!
Here's some goof-ball who got in the way of my picture!
I don't remember what we did that night, probably went out for Mexican food.
Day 4.
We got up later than we hoped and motored our way down to Cooper Union for the Creativity Now conference. It's for Tokion Magazine and I had no idea it was even going on until the day before.
We were lucky, because this year they had a comedy panel featuring:
David Cross
Zach Galifianakis, and this other lady who I have never heard of named Maria Bamford. She was kind of funny.... For a girl!
Then some other nerds talked about other things.
After that we headed back to Columbia. This is where Krisjanis graduated.
Outside shot of where we stayed.
Then we had some huge pizza slices for supper.
Unbelievable!
Day 5.
Got up and jumped on a bus for an hour long ride to LaGuardia. It was rainy and shitty out.
It's freaky taking off and landing over water.
But I had some familiar friends there for me.
